

OUR PASTOR
Pastor Mark Anthony McCleary Sr., was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from high school in 1989, Rev. McCleary began a reign of service at the Roe's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in East Dallas. He began his ministry through roles as Youth Minister, President of the Men's Brotherhood, Associate Minister to the Pastor (R.I.P. Herman Smith Sr., Pastor) , and Sunday School and Vacation Bible School Teacher. Presently, he serves as Pastor of 8th Day Baptist Church in Garland, where he preached his the first sermon on October 26, 2014.
Rev. McCleary earned his Diploma of Theology at Southern Bible Institute. He also earned his Bachelors of Theological Studies at Tyndale Seminary; where he also went on to earn his Master's there as well. He also earned second B.A. at Louisiana Baptist University and continued his studies at Dallas Baptist University and Criswell College.
As one who possesses great compassion for teaching and encouraging people (young and old), he founded the Crosstown Cowboys Pop Warner Youth organization in 1998 where he served as President until 2002. The organization was formed to mentor young men and women and help guide them in a positive direction. He is also the former President of the United People Association, a neighborhood association working to help revitalize the East Dallas community and instill moral values.
Rev. McCleary and his wife Shrocka live in Garland and have four children: Jessica, Mark, Markeita and Mia, and three grandchildren, Jayden Braylen and Ashton Jr.
